Build and Manage an IT Infrastructure for a Rapidly Growing e-Commerce SaaS Provider

Client

DMinSite is a managed e-commerce partner for direct mail catalog companies. Through their expertise in web marketing and their proprietary ecommerce software platform, Mercury 6.0, DMinSite helps their clients grow web sales at a rate more than double the industry average. New clients commonly see a 50-100% increase in web sales in their first year.

Challenge

Three years ago, president and founder Larry Kavanagh presented Moyo Group with a huge challenge: to create an affordable, scalable, high-availability IT infrastructure for a custom SaaS application that was still in development.

Solution

Moyo Group’s Bill Kim took up the challenge by leading a team of security and infrastructure engineers to design and build the hosting infrastructure. Significant security measures were implemented to insure the protection of customer data. Vendor contracts were analyzed and substantial cost reductions were realized. Operational processes and procedures were developed to insure manageability. Finally, existing e-Commerce customers were seamlessly migrated to the new architecture.

The infrastructure is now managed by a combination of full time DMinsite employees and part-time Moyo Group staff, providing DMinSite with the specialized IT skills it needs without hiring a large and expensive staff. Bill Kim of Moyo Group serves as DMinSite’s CIO on a part time basis. He participates in important customer calls in addition to setting strategy IT and managing site operations on an ongoing basis.
